How do I setup a pop3 email account (email account created on cpanel) on mac?

It works on a windows machine 100%, but no matter what I do on the mac it keeps asking me for my password even though I entered it! The server requires smtp authentication (same as pop3 login details) and port set to 26. Same exact settings work on windows pc driving me crazy
