Border Patrol National Recruiting Effort Reaches Omaha


Omaha, Neb. – The U.S. Border Patrol national recruiting team is conducting an intensive recruiting event Friday, April 25, at the Omaha Marriot Hotel, 10220 Regency Circle, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.


The Border Patrol is searching for qualified men and women in the state of Nebraska to join their ranks among of the largest Federal uniform law enforcement agency in the country. “There is no career quite like being a Border Patrol agent,” said Havre Sector Chief Patrol Agent Brenna Neinast. “It’s the only profession in our country specifically aimed at preventing terrorists and other criminals from entering the United States between ports of entry.”


The Border Patrol has stepped up recruiting efforts to hire 6,000 additional agents by the end of the year.


Qualified candidates have the potential to earn up $70,000 within three years of service, receive federal benefits like comprehensive health and dental insurance, and be afforded many opportunities for career advancement.


New hires must successfully complete a 55-day paid basic training at the Border Patrol Academy, in Artesia, N.M. Training includes rigorous studies such as immigration and nationality laws, Spanish language skills, physical training and marksmanship.
