Jasper County DRC To Operate In Temporary Location
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- A Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) that has been serving flooded residents at the American Red Cross building at 410 S. Jackson St. in Joplin will operate temporarily from Wednesday through Friday, April 23-25, at the First United Methodist Church, 501 W. Fourth St., Joplin, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has announced.
DRC No. 10 will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. all three days. The DRC will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27. A DRC staff member will be at the old location answering questions for anyone who has not heard about the change. A new location will be determined next week.
FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
