NRC to Host Third Annual Nuclear Fuel Cycle Information Exchange June 1719 in Rockville, Maryland
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will host its third annual Fuel Cycle Information Exchange June 1719 at the agencys headquarters in Rockville, Md.
The conference will be an opportunity for NRC staff, the nuclear industry and other interested members of the public to exchange information and discuss issues of interest pertaining to the regulation of civilian nuclear fuel cycle facilities.
NRC Chairman Dale E. Klein will be the keynote speaker on June 17. Other speakers will come from the Department of Energy, the Nuclear Energy Institute, the World Nuclear Association, various NRC licensees, academia, law firms and the NRC staff.
Subjects to be covered include the recycling of spent nuclear fuel, safety culture, licensing of new uranium enrichment facilities, regulation of uranium recovery operations, emerging regulations and regulatory challenges facing the NRC.
The exchange will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. Sessions on June 1719 will be held in the NRC Auditorium in the Two White Flint North building at NRC headquarters. The June 19 sessions will be held in the Commission Briefing Room in the One White Flint North Building.
