SHA congratulates Wong Kam-po on winning a gold medal at 11th National Games


Hong Kong (HKSAR) - The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, extended his heartfelt congratulation to Mr Wong Kam-po on winning a gold medal in men's individual road race of cycling event at the 11th National Games held in Jinan, Shandong today (October 26). Mr Tsang said: "The outstanding achievement of Mr Wong is the result of his hard work and tenacity over the years. We are all very proud of his excellentperformance." Mr Wong had won two gold and two bronze medals in cycling events in the three previous National Games.

He was also invited to serve as one of the torchbearers at the 11th National Games Opening Ceremony Torch Relay held in Jinan Olympic Sports Centre, Shandong on October 16. Together with four other torchbearers, he relayed the final leg of the torch at the sports centre and jointly lighted the main torch erected inside the venue to signify the official opening of the 11th National Games. So far Hong Kong Delegation has won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals in the 11th National Games.
