Free exhibition at Kowloon Park to promote home gardening


Hong Kong (HKSAR) - To arouse public interest in horticulture and to enhance awareness of greening, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department will hold a horticulture education exhibition to promote home gardening tomorrow (October 31) and on Sunday (November 1) from 10am to 4pm at the Arcade of Kowloon Park. Admission is free. Descriptive display panels will enable people to learn more about the selection of plants, plant propagation methods, and factors affecting plant growth.

They will also introduce planting and plant maintenance on balconies, rooftops and gardens; environmentally friendly planting by composting; and control of pests and diseases. Fringe activities including games stalls and eco-friendly workshops will be held during the exhibition. Visitors can also share the fun of pot planting under the guidance of horticulture instructors.

Talks in Cantonese entitled "Maintenance of House Plants" and "Planting of Edible Plants at Home" will be held at the Secondary Hall of Kowloon Park Sports Centre. Admission ticketsare required.
