Dessert shop in Tuen Mun ordered to suspend business

Hong Kong (HKSAR) - The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) has ordered a dessert shop in Tuen Mun to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation. The food premises ¡]¥°O¿}¤ô¡^, at Shop 7, ground floor, Glorious Garden, 45 Lung Mun Road, was ordered to suspend business from today (November 3) to November 16. "In April and August this year, there were two convictions in respect of unauthorised extension of food business at the food premises," an FEHD spokesman said.

"A total fine of $3,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension." He said the food premises also had convictions in May last year and February this year for the same offence. "A total fine of $2,300 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee.

The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from May 7 to 13 this year," the spokesman said. He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
