Salazar, Rendell, and Other Elected Officials to Join Flight 93 Families at Groundbreaking Ceremony for Memorial


SHANKSVILLE, Pa. – Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar will join Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, Senator Bob Casey, Representatives John Murtha and Bill Shuster and the families of the Flight 93 heroes to break ground on the Flight 93 National Memorial at noon on Nov. 7.

Officials representing the National Park Service, the National Park Foundation, the Flight 93 Advisory Commission, the Flight 93 Memorial Task Force and the Flight 93 National Memorial Campaign also will participate.

When: 12 p.m. EST, November 7, 2009
Where: Shanksville, Pa. Follow signs for Flight 93 temporary memorial on Skyline Road, outside Shanksville, PA. Event tent is adjacent to the temporary memorial. On-site satellite truck and general press parking will be available. There will be a press sign-in table.
Special Note: A mult box will be available. There will be no external power and no lights.
