Planet 51 PSA Campaign Brings NASA's Message of Exploration Down to Earth
WASHINGTON -- Broadcast-quality digital public service announcements are available for download from NASA featuring actor Dwayne Johnson, star of the new film "Planet 51," discussing the importance of space exploration, diversity and education.
NASA Television also will air the public service announcements starting Friday. The date coincides with the theatrical release of "Planet 51." Johnson provides the voice of space explorer Chuck Baker in "Planet 51," an animated adventure-comedy revolving around an American astronaut who lands on a planet thinking he's the first person to explore this new world. To his surprise, Baker finds little green extraterrestrials inhabiting the planet who are happily living in a white picket fence-world reminiscent of 1950s America.
The new PSAs address topics including education, diversity and NASA "spinoff" technologies. To download digital files, news organizations should visit:
