AnyModal CDS™ platform to provide additional choices for healthcare providers and partners

M*Modal, pioneer of advanced Speech Understanding technology and provider of on-demand conversational documentation services, has released the most recent version of its AnyModal Conversational Documentation Services™ (CDS) platform. Showing the latest technology at the HIMSS 2010 show in Atlanta, M*Modal has enhanced their CDS platform to provide additional choices for healthcare providers and partners.

AnyModal CDS is specifically designed to enable sharing of physician profiles across all of its speech-enabled technologies. It is the first and only technology that allows physician profiles to be shared by both transcription supported (back-end) and physician self-edited (front-end) speech understanding solutions. With the latest release of AnyModal CDS, physicians can choose at the time of documentation whether they will self-edit or send the document to a transcription editor.

“AnyModal CDS empowers physicians to capture medical facts and orders from narrative dictation, without requiring any change to their normal documentation routine,” said Michael Finke, CEO of M*Modal. “Because this unique hybrid solution is painless for the physician, it facilitates a faster transition from back-end speech recognition to real-time physician self-editing.”

M*Modal is also demonstrating a telephone-based option in which the physician can use a traditional or smart phone to dictate, while retaining the option of self-editing on their workstation. This allows physicians and providers to avoid the additional expense and headache of custom dictation microphones, if desired.

An additional feature now available to physicians is an iPhone-based dictation and self-editing tool relying on M*Modal’s fully integrated CDS platform and profiles built from all physician documentation profiles, an application unique to M*Modal.

Improved Speech Understanding technology

With its latest AnyModal CDS release, M*Modal has made significant advances in the state of speech understanding technology. These include:

Improved quality of speech recognition, reducing both physician self-edit times and transcription edit time and expense.
Faster author enrollment, relying on M*Modal’s unique learning capabilities so that physicians generate high quality draft documents earlier in the learning cycle.
New front-end (CDS Live) features for narrative conversational dictation, dictation against structured, form-filling templates, Normals/macros and combinations of these methods.

AnyModal CDS uses proprietary, advanced speech understanding technologies to automatically capture the complete narrative of clinical notes through dictation, while structuring and encoding the inherent clinical facts. As a result of using AnyModal CDS, healthcare organizations enhance patient care, improve record keeping and significantly increase productivity to reduce costs.
