Hong Kong raises the Travel Alert for Thailand (Bangkok) to Red


Hong Kong (HKSAR) - In view of the situation that the Thai government has imposed "Internal Security Act" to Bangkok and surrounding areas and the possible large-scale protests and gathering of people in these areas in the next few days, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Government today (March 10) has raised the outbound travel alert (OTA) for Thailand (Bangkok) to Red.Residents intending to visit these areas should adjust their travel plans. Those already there should attend to their safety and avoid protests and large gathering of people. Security Bureau will continue to closely monitor the situation and issue updates through the media and the OTA webpage (www.sb.gov.hk/eng/ota).

Residents outside Hong Kong who need assistance may call the 24-hour hotline of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the Immigration Department at (852) 1868.
