Three employers ordered to pay MPF arrears


Hong Kong (HKSAR) - The following is issued on behalf of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority: The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (March 19) obtained three orders for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at about $473,000 against three employers in the District Court. The District Court today issued judgments against three employers, namely Vevion Hong Kong Limited, Man Chuen Tunnelling Company Limited and Arima Teppanyaki Limited. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA the sums of $208,228.51, $203,318 and $61,593, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 53, ten and four employees of the defendants respectively.

The amounts awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court ordered the defendants each to pay costs of $930.
