Robbery case in Sau Mau Ping reclassified as robbery and murder


Hong Kong (HKSAR) - Police today (July 16) reclassified a robbery case in Sau Mau Ping on July 8 as robbery and murder. About 11.30pm on July 8, a 44-year-old woman was found lying unconscious with head injuries in a staircase on Hiu Kwong Street near Hiu Lai Court. Police arrived the scene and sent the woman to United Christian Hospital, where she was certified dead at 3.15pm on July 13.

Initial investigation revealed the deceased had lost a handbag that contained her personal belongings and cash. Her head injuries were believed to have beensustained when she was pushedto the floor whilebeing robbed. The post-mortem examination conducted today revealed that the woman sustained serious head injuries.

The cause of death is to be ascertained with further chemical reports. The case was reclassified as robbery and murder and investigations by Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon East are underway. ¡@¡@Police urge anyone who has information to provide to contactthem at 2767 1463.
