Integration between Active RFID and CCTV allows automatic switching of cameras within a video surveillance system
Guard RFID Solutions Inc. announced today that it will be demonstrating the ability of its Argus Active RFID system to automatically switch to the correct video stream to follow a tagged person or item moving within its area of coverage. This is part of GuardRFID’s efforts to provide a suite of features that integrate active RFID and CCTV, which will also include the ability to control panning and zooming of PTZ cameras as an active tag moves from one location to another. The Argus system already provides the ability to display a video stream within its application from an IP based camera at a location where a predetermined event is taking place, giving users instant visibility of the activity in the area so that appropriate action can be taken immediately upon an occurrence of the event. GuardRFID’s active RFID system is deployed in numerous locations for real time location, tracking, and security of people and assets.
GuardRFID provides a variety of tag types that can be placed on people or objects and used with its Argus Active RFID system. Some of the tags are equipped with sensors to detect tamper attempts, motion, temperature and visible light. Its Staff Tag and Low Profile Article Tag support 2-way communications, and even provide alerts if the person or object that they are mounted on have a sudden fall.
