First Open Day of LegCo Complex concluded successfully

Hong Kong (HKSAR) - The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

The first Open Day of the Legislative Council (LegCo) Complex concluded successfully today (February 12). The two-day Open Day attracted a total of more than 7,000 visitors.

In addition to the 87 guided tours conducted yesterday (February 11), a total of around 170 guided tours comprising about 7,200 visitors were conducted in the two-day Open Day. The visitors queued at the LegCo Square orderly to wait for touring the LegCo Complex.

Through joining the guided tours, members of the public visited the Chamber, Ante-Chamber, Dining Hall, conference rooms, Viewing Gallery, Memory Lane and Education Gallery, and took pictures in these venues to gain first-hand experience of how Members perform their duties in the Complex.

Some of these venues such as the Chamber, Ante-Chamber, Dining Hall and conference rooms are normally not included in the existing regular educational tours organised throughout the year.

Apart from the exhibition corner and the photo corner, a number of game booths were also set up in the Open Day to let visitors understand more about LegCo and its Members in a more enjoyable and leisurely way. The visitors were very interested in the games and really enjoyed them.

To create a more joyful atmosphere for the event, the LegCo Secretariat arranged today 11 sessions of performances in different time slots at the Main Lobby of the LegCo Complex, including marching band parade, choir, Chinese instrumental ensemble, instrumental ensemble and unplugged music.
