Bunny Adoption Day set for Cheung Sha Wan

Hong Kong (HKSAR) - Bunny Adoption Day will be held tomorrow and next Monday (March 23 and 26) from 10am to 5pm at the lobby of Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices.

The adoption day is jointly organised by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD), the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and the Society for Abandoned Animals (SAA) to encourage people to adopt abandoned rabbits and promote responsible pet ownership.

Many animals deserve a second chance to be a lovable pet after being abandoned or given up by their owners. The AFCD encourages the public to adopt abandoned or surrendered animals through approved non-profit-making animal welfare organisations. Currently, abandoned or unclaimed pets with a friendly temperament and good health are selected by the AFCD and sent to 13 partner animal welfare organisations for adoption and rehoming.

Bunny Adoption Day will feature an educational exhibition, game booth and animal adoption consultation service.

Visitors will have a chance to meet the rabbits that up for adoption. Those visiting the game booth will receive a souvenir while stock lasts.
