Draft Yung Shue O Development Permission Area Plan gazetted

Hong Kong (HKSAR) - The Town Planning Board today (May 4) announced the publication of the Draft Yung Shue O Development Permission Area (DPA) Plan.

The area, covering about 33.72 hectares, is located at the western end of the Sai Kung Peninsula, with Sai Kung West Country Park surrounding it on the north, east and south, and Three Fathoms Cove (Kei Ling Ha Hoi) lying to its west.

A spokesman for the Town Planning Board said the general planning intention of the area is to protect its high conservation and landscape value and the rural settings which complement the overall naturalness and landscape beauty of the surrounding Sai Kung West Country Park. The planning intention is also to reflect the existing recognised village of Yung Shue O.

About 2.87 hectares of the area is zoned "Village Type Development" to reflect the existing recognised village. The remaining 30.85 hectares of the area is designated "Unspecified Use", pending detailed analysis and studies to establish the appropriate land uses in the course of preparing an Outline Zoning Plan.

The draft Yung Shue O DPA Plan is now available for public inspection during office hours at the secretariat of the Town Planning Board; the Planning Enquiry Counters of the Planning Department in North Point and Sha Tin; the Sha Tin, Tai Po and North District Planning Office; the Tai Po District Office; and the Sai Kung North Rural Committee.

Any person may make written representations in respect of the draft plan to the Secretary of the Town Planning Board on or before July 4.

Copies of the draft plan are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei.

The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Town Planning Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).
