Suspect Charged in Attempted Robbery of North Community Bank Branch in Chicago

A criminal complaint was filed yesterday in United States District court against a Chicago woman in connection with the April 12, 2012 attempted robbery of the North Community Bank branch located at 5241 North Western Avenue in Chicago. Regina M Gillon, 47, of the 2200 block of West Farragut Avenue, was charged in a one-count criminal complaint with attempted bank robbery, a felony offense. She appeared yesterday before Magistrate Judge Michael T Mason, at which time she was formally charged and ordered held until her next court date, scheduled for May 10, 2012. A copy of the criminal complaint is attached. The public is reminded that a complaint is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
