Seminar for SMEs on "Starting Up Your Business"


Hong Kong (HKSAR) - The Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs (SUCCESS) of the Trade and Industry Department will hold a seminar entitled "Starting Up Your Business" on August 23 (Thursday). The seminar will introduce the support measures and services for business start-ups provided by the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups. It will also explore problems related to business start-ups.

Speakers will include the Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited, Mr James Lau; Supervisor of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Mr Gary Tang; Co-founder of NAK? Company Limited Ms Acmy Chan; and Co-founder of TAKON Product Development Limited Mr Jerry Lee.

Mr Lau and Mr Tang will introduce the Microfinance Scheme of the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited and the Youth Business Hong Kong scheme of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups respectively. The other two speakers will share their successful experience in starting up their businesses, including the difficulties encountered during their start-up process and the tips for overcoming the difficulties.

The seminar will be held at 2.30pm in the Lecture Theatre, G/F, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay (MTR Tin Hau station, exit B). The seminar will be conducted in Cantonese.

Admission is free.

Those interested are invited to register with SUCCESS by August 21 (Tuesday). Please visit the SUCCESS website (www.success.tid.gov.hk) for details of the seminar and online registration. Registration forms can also be downloaded from the SUCCESS website.

Please send completed registration forms to SUCCESS by fax (2375 7105). Due to the limited seating capacity of the venue, seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
