FEHD orders Sham Shui Po food factory to suspend business for three weeks

Hong Kong (HKSAR) - The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food factory in Sham Shui Po to suspend business for 21 days.

The operator repeatedly breached the Food Business Regulation by illegally extending the food business area.

The food factory, located at Shop 1 on the ground floor of Goldtop Garden at No. 159-161 Camp Street, was ordered to suspend business from today (August 19) to September 8.

"Between August last year and May this year, four convictions for the breach were recorded against the food establishment," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.

"A total fine of $8,300 was levied by the court and 60 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system.

The contraventions resulted in seven-day and 14-day business suspensions running consecutively," he added.

The spokesman reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
