Trump has made his state's rights position on marijuana legalization crystal clear
"In terms of marijuana and legalization, I think that should be a state issue, state-by-state," President-elect Donald J. Trump told The Washington Post. "…Marijuana is such a big thing. I think medical should happen — right? Don’t we agree? I think so. And then I really believe we should leave it up to the states." Remember, this is a pre-election statement from a Republican Presidential candidate. He has also expressed support for medical marijuana, telling Bill O'Reilly that he's, "in favor of medical marijuana 100%."
But the fear-mongers and marijuana legalization opponents are back at it, drumming up nightmarish fears of possible repeals of existing state legalization laws and stronger enforcement of federal laws if Giuliani or Christie were to get tapped for the Attorney General position in Trump's new administration. The fact is that 57% of all American voters support marijuana legalization, not to mention the majority of Trump voters also support legalization. Independents favor marijuana legalization at a whopping 63% which is a voter block that overwhelmingly voted for Donald J. Trump for President. And I strongly believe that Trump will not forget or let down his many supporters.
Trump has been described repeatedly as a pragmatist. Presented with the realities of continuing the miserably failed (and expensive) war on drugs or legalizing and taxing, President-elect Trump has made his decision clear. It's a state issue. And the States desperately need the money. California was the tipping point, the experiment is now over. Sensible legalization, taxation and job creation has prevailed as the clear will of the American people.
And now the Trump administration can focus on achieving the seemingly insurmountable tasks of real tax reform, immigration, healthcare reform and "big league, job creation". Maybe even restore Constitutional law, if we're really lucky. The fear-mongers have lost this one - and they're whining, as usual.

The following article makes a strong argument that Trump will legalize all drugs. https://www.merryjane.com/news/want-marijuana-legalized-then-donald-trump-is-your-best-option
