"Legends on Ice" to be staged in February

Hong Kong (HKSAR) -       "Legends on Ice" will entertain audiences with an amazing display of figure skating and acrobatic skills in February.

Through integrating both elements, the show promises to offer a dazzling performance of ingenious creativity that demonstrates the graceful and fluid moves of figure skating. The performance also features video projection and special stage lighting effects that challenge the narrative flow of traditional acrobatics, giving audiences an astonishing visual treat.

The show includes the troupe's signature acts including figure skating, straw hats on ice, ice skating on stilts, diabolo, cubes, contortions, meteors, aerial silks, plate spinning, spacewalk at the pole and rope-skipping. Fun-packed clown routines and interactive sessions are also included to create a truly immersive carnival ambience.

"Legends on Ice" is a production of Henan Performance Arts Co Ltd.

The company was founded in 1964 as a performing arts troupe that specialises in acrobatics and dance performances on ice. The troupe comprises over 40 top ice-skating performers who follow a rigorous ice performance training programme. In 2013, their critically acclaimed acrobatic show "Grace on Ice" was staged more than 100 times in Shanghai. In 2015, the troupe toured around the country, performing over 120 shows of "Legends on Ice".

It will also perform in several Italian cities starting early in the new year.

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "Legends on Ice" is one of the attractions of the "Cheers!" Series. Two performances will be staged at 8pm on February 24 and 25 (Friday and Saturday) and at 2.30pm on February 25 and 26(Saturday and Sunday) at the Auditorium, Sha Tin Town Hall.
