Opening hours extended to 8pm for "Inventing le Louvre: From Palace to Museum over 800 Years" exhibition
Hong Kong (HKSAR) - The popular exhibition "Inventing le Louvre: From Palace to Museum over 800 Years", which is now being held at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, will come to an end on July 24. To allow more visitors to see the precious artefacts from the Louvre, the museum will extend the exhibition's opening hours to 8pm from tomorrow (July 15) to July 24. Members of the public are encouraged to take the opportunity to visit the exhibition during the remaining exhibition period.
During this period, the opening hours of another major exhibition, "Hall of Mental Cultivation of The Palace Museum - Imperial Residence of Eight Emperors", which is also being held at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, will also be extended to 8pm.
The opening hours of both exhibitions will be from 10am to 8pm on Mondays and Wednesdays to Sundays in this period.
The museum is closed on Tuesdays.
A spokesperson for the Hong Kong Heritage Museum today (July 14) noted that since its opening on April 26, the "Inventing le Louvre: From Palace to Museum over 800 Years" exhibition has received more than 300 000 visitors, with an average daily attendance of about 4 300 visitors.

It is jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and Le French May, and co-organised by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum and the Louvre Museum, with major support from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and major sponsorship from BNP Paribas.
The exhibition is also supported by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau.
