Summit Shah MD Announces 2017 Winners of the Summit Shah Scholarship
2018 Scholarship Now Open to Applicants
Summit Shah has announced the winners of the 2017 Summit Shah Scholarship, with several deserving students from the Central Ohio region being recognized for their outstanding academic careers with the $1,000 scholarship award. Dr. Shah also announced eligible students may now begin submitting applications for the 2018 Summit Shah Scholarship.
Summit Shah MD, the founder of Premier Allergy in Columbus, Ohio, recently announced the winners of the 2017 Summit Shah Scholarship: Marissa Dickson of Hilliard Bradley, Timothy Smith of Dublin Scioto, Samantha McGhee of Hilliard Darby, and Haley Devine of Dublin Coffman. All of the scholarship winners are of excellent character and possess exemplary academic credentials, and although there was an abundance of outstanding applicants, the four students selected for the scholarship truly stood out among their peers.
With the announcement of the 2017 Summit Shah Scholarship winners concluded, Dr. Shah also announced that the organization is now accepting applications for the 2018 scholarship. The scholarship, which features an award of $1,000 intended to cover expenses associated with the pursuit of higher education opportunities, is open to both high school and college students, provided that the high school students will graduate during this calendar year and have been accepted into -- or, in the case of college students, already attending -- an accredited college, university, design, or trade school.
Eligible applicants are encouraged to submit a digital application by visiting The Summit Shah Scholarship’s website, which can be accessed via summitshahscholarship.com. Applicants are also expected to complete a brief essay of no more than 500 words discussing how experiences of failure often provide lessons that prove instrumental in the achievement of future success. The essay prompt asks applicants to recount a specific incident involving failure and to explain the impact of that incident along with any important lessons learned from the experience.
The entry deadline for applications is May 1, 2018. After a thorough review of the applications, a winner will be selected and notified shortly thereafter -- typically no later than the first two weeks of May, 2018. Upon notification, the scholarship winner may be asked to provide proof of enrollment in an accredited college, university, trade, or design school. All interested parties are encouraged to visit the scholarship's website to access more detailed information regarding eligibility, terms and conditions, and essay requirements.
