SHA speaks on Kai Tak Sports Park

Hong Kong (HKSAR) -      Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Lau Kong-wah, after attending a radio programme today (August 12):

Reporter: Mr Lau, you have mentioned in the programme that the Government had so far received six tenders for the Kai Tak Sports Park. How is the project's progress now? Do yo think the number is acceptable?

The Secretary for Home Affairs: It's quite acceptable, we think that six tenders are okay. We hope we can get three out of them to the final stage.

It is very smooth, we hope we can have the construction to start in the middle of next year.

(Please also refer to the Chinese portion of the transcript.)
