STH to lead logistics delegation to Germany

Hong Kong (HKSAR) -      The Secretary for Transport and Housing and Chairman of the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council, Mr Frank Chan Fan, will lead a logistics delegation to Germany tonight (January 9) to promote Hong Kong as a regional premier logistics hub.

     Mr Chan and the delegation will visit logistics facilities including the Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe Railway in Duisburg, the Frankfurt Airport CargoCity and an innovation centre, and will have meeting with the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology to learn about the latest logistics developments in Germany.

     They will also attend a luncheon seminar co-organised by the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council to introduce Hong Kong's strengths in logistics services to the German business community.

     Mr Chan will be back in Hong Kong in the morning on January 13. During his absence, the Under Secretary for Transport and Housing, Dr Raymond So Wai-man, will be the Acting Secretary for Transport and Housing.
