The groups that performed at the gala also travel overseas to promote Chinese culture. Mrs Lam noted that Hong Kong, with the freedom and environment conducive to diverse artistic creation, has a host of arts groups that can collaborate with Mainland counterparts, She expressed the hope that such co-operation could be enhanced to unite Chinese people overseas and promote cultural exchanges and co-operation, including strengthening people-to-people bonds through cultural and traditional performances to complement the Belt and Road Initiative.
