SED saddened by passing of Professor Jao Tsung-i


Hong Kong (HKSAR) -      The Secretary for Education, Mr Kevin Yeung, today (February 6) expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Professor Jao Tsung-i and extended his deepest condolences to Professor Jao's family.

     "Professor Jao was a renowned master in the studies of Chinese culture who attained remarkable achievements in various areas such as history, philosophy, arts and culture with his in-depth knowledge. Dedicated to the promotion of Chinese culture in Hong Kong and around the world, Professor Jao was widely respected by the higher education sector for his profound influence and inspiration," Mr Yeung said.

     He said he believed that the education sector would never forget Professor Jao's significant contributions to Chinese culture and the humanities.
