Hong Kong attaches great importance to its traditional culture and preserves many unique folk customs. The city celebrates an array of colourful traditional festivals, with many festive customs and traditions deeply rooted in the heart of the community. Hongkong Post is pleased to issue a set of six special stamps with the theme "Festive Customs" to showcase these customs and traditions with their strong local flavours:

$2 - Putting Up Spring Festival Scrolls
$2.60 - Throwing Wishing Placards
$3.40 - Offering First Incense in Chinese New Year
$3.70 - Spinning Wheels of Fortune
$4.90 - Drawing Chinese Fortune Sticks
$5 - Unicorn Dance

The "Festive Customs" special stamps feature graphic illustrations of six different folk customs using an expressive design concept which employs an outline of a single hand or pair of hands imprinted in silver foil to indicate the movement and activity associated with each tradition, whilst the souvenir sheet displays a red background flecked with gold, resembling the design of spring festival scrolls.
Official First Day Covers at $1.30 each will be on sale at all post offices from tomorrow (February 8).

The stamps and associated philatelic products will be displayed at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office, Sha Tin Central Post Office and Tuen Mun Central Post Office from the same day.
