Brain Injuries Can Require Long Term Care

Brain injuries can come from all kinds of places and reasons. Brain injuries range from a mild concussion with few lingering effects to serious trauma that requires a lifetime of aftercare.

If you or someone important to you has suffered a brain injury, the needed medical care and more can be paid for by whoever caused the injury.

“Taking a hit to the head, hard enough to cause a brain injury, can happen anywhere, not just in sports. Vehicle accidents, construction sites, slip and fall cases, if you can get hurt there, you can suffer a brain injury,” said Joshua Zokaeem of the Capital Law Firm. Zokaeem represents people who suffered brain injuries to help them get money to pay for their injury, bills and recovery.

According to a report from Northwestern University, “The lifetime costs of a patient’s treatment for a traumatic brain injury are estimated to run from $85,000 to $3 million.”

Mr. Zokaeem said very few people have those kinds of resources on hand to cover a brain injury.

“You can make the person responsible for your injury cover your costs. The law requires people to be accountable for their actions,” he said. “That means paying you if you are injured through no fault of your own.”

What kind of brain injury can generate a cash settlement? Any one, the LA attorney said.

“It doesn’t matter when or how you received a brain injury. The fact is you were harmed. If you were not at fault, someone else was. Make them pay,” he said.

The only deadline for filing a brain injury claims case is the California statute of limitations.
