More than 1 300 students build spectacular display for Hong Kong Flower Show
Hong Kong (HKSAR) - More than 1 300 students from 36 schools joined the activity "Jockey Club Mosaiculture Display by Students" at Victoria Park today (March 3). Under the guidance of some 150 green volunteers, the students worked together to help put up the spectacular mosaiculture display "Blossom Parade".
The parterre is a wonderful mosaic with about 40 000 flowers and plants including kalanchoes, carnations, pansies, lavender and more.
With a festive parade as its theme, thedisplay shows a grand marshal brandishing his baton and leading a monkey, a snake, a lion, an elephant and a giraffe into the venue. Behind them are two horses pulling floats, a bee and a ladybird in a complementing dance, while music and the sweet scent of flowers fill the air.
In the evening, thedisplay is enhanced with a light effect so that the beauty can be showcased day and night. The display will be exhibited in the coming Hong Kong Flower Show.
This year's flower show will be held in Victoria Park for 10 days from March 16 to 25 from 9am to 9pm daily, featuring "Joy in Bloom" as the main theme and the dahlia as the theme flower.
