Hong Kong (HKSAR) -      The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Lau Kong-wah, and a delegation of District Council (DC) chairmen and vice chairmen continued their visit to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area today (September 8).

In the morning, the delegation visited the Guangzhou Tianhe Hong Kong and Macau Youth Association, which provides services and support for Hong Kong and Macao youths who wish to start a business, look for an internship or a job, or to study or do an exchange in the district. They then visited Guangdong Museum to learn about its design and tour the exhibits.

In the afternoon, the delegation toured Nansha Port and visited the CloudWalk Technology company to learn about its face recognition technology. They then proceeded to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Technology Exhibition and Exchange Centre in Foshan, which is equipped with over 100 office rooms as well as a product display area and conference rooms.

The centre also organises promotional events for start-ups in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, providing an ideal working environment for new businesses.

Mr Lau said that the Greater Bay Area aims to deepen Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao co-operation, facilitate in-depth and organic regional integration, and drive co-ordinated regional economic development. He expressed the hope that the visit would bring inspiration and new perspectives to the DC chairmen and vice chairmen to apply in their district work.

In the evening, the delegation will visit Lingnan Tiandi to learn about heritage conservation and old town revitalisation.

The delegation will depart for Zhongshan tomorrow (September 9) to visit the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link in the morning, and will travel to Zhuhai to tour the Zhuhai Grand Theatre and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in the afternoon, thus concluding the visit.
