Position Summary:

JibJab Media Inc is looking for a Ruby on Rails Software Engineer. You will design and implement solutions for the organization's technology, product, design, and business development teams, with direction and management from experienced technology leaders. You will play a key role on a world-class technology team.

Job Requirements:

• At least 3 years of web software development experience in multiple programming environments.
  
• Understanding of web application basics, such as: HTTP, cookies and state, database access, and object-oriented design.
  
• Knowledge of online media systems and Web 2.0 technologies such as XML, JavaScript, and development with SOAP and REST services.
  
• Positive attitude an absolute must, along with strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  We are not a huge team, and we need to work well together.
  

About our technology:

• Ruby on Rails is the primary programming environment – but we are constantly pushing the envelope and experimenting with new frameworks and technologies. You're not required to know Ruby when you start, but hey, if you do, great!
  
• Linux is the primary production operating system, with a Postgres backend.
  
• Flash, QuickTime, and numerous other rich media technologies form a large component of our ingestion and presentation platforms.
  
• Web 2.0 technologies such as AJAX, Javascript, CSS, XHTML, REST, SOAP, and XSLT are important.
