Compensation: $100k - $160k + equity/performance-based bonuses

The Position: Our startup is looking for a brilliant and innovative VP of Engineering / Systems Architect.

•  You will be joining a  game-changing business at the ground level and have a huge opportunity to shape our business

•  You will be responsible for helping with the overall planning, system architecture, execution, and success of the  development of our demo product and all products to follow

•  The right person for this role will bring innovative ideas, great software design/implementation skills and a strong sense of teamwork

•  Participate in the entire development life-cycle from design and testing to troubleshooting

 
The Ideal Candidate:

•  6-8 years experience in a relevant field (ad networks, advertising, data mining, designing scalable architectures)   

•  Past experience at the following firms highly desirable: DoubleClick, Google, AOL/Platform A/Tacoda, RightMedia/Yahoo, Advertising.com, aQuantive/Atlas, or similar ad-networks

•  Extensive experience with building high-performance, scalable system architectures (prior experience as a  Systems Architect a big plus)

•  Proficiencies: Technology management, content transformation and distribution, user interface implementation, parallel data processing, distributed systems, high-performance software development

•  Languages: Java, C/C++, PHP, SQL, PERL, JavaScript, XML, XHTML

•  Other Technologies: J2EE, Ajax

•  Databases: MySQL

•  Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to hit milestones on schedule and achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast paced environment

•  Very high technical competence, track record of strong coding and individual technical accomplishments

•  Strong project-management skills and a proven track record for product delivery

•  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

•  Ability to fit in well within an informal startup environment

•  Pluses: Prior experience in behavioral targeting, mobile development, information retrieval, data classification, machine learning, collaborative filtering, data mining, statistical modeling
