Community Manager – MySpace Developer Platform
An ideal candidate will be fun, energetic, participate in, and be passionate about online communities. Involvement in developer communities a huge plus. The candidate will be on mailing lists, hang out in chat rooms, moderate message boards. They enjoy talking to people online, have huge buddy lists, and know proper netiquette. They should be excited and motivated to serve as the voice of the community within MySpace, even if the community disagrees with MySpace. They understand the way the web is changing, and are prepared to engage millions of people.
This manager will be utilizing a number of methods to stay in contact with the community. They must have a strong familiarity of social networking platforms and tool, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
* Serve as the MDP community advocate within MySpace.
* Promote the MDP within the external developer community
* Monitor internal and external websites and circulate feedback
* Work directly with third party developers to resolve issues and questions as they arise
* Work with cross-functional teams to improve third party developer experience
* Review and improve the MDP community tools, website, and processes.
* Maintain and write for MDP blog and other community outreach tools
Requirements:
* Friendly and personable
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Basic understanding of social networks, widgets, API's, and applications. Must be able to understand what a developer is telling them.
* Ability, and willingness to react to problems that can occur in a real-time, fast moving environment, with patience, grace and understanding.
Experience
* 5+ years experience working with Online Communities, the larger the community the better.
* Proven history of maintaining and developing an online community
* Experience using Community Server a PLUS!
