(New York) This-position-is-on-location-in-our-New-York-offices. 40hrs-per-week-in-office-Contract-To-Hire.

Looking for a self-motivated web-developer. Ideal candidate is versed in writing standards-compliant xhtml, css, and unobtrusive-javascript. You will work with designers, product-managers, and backend-engineers to create enhanced user-experiences for several world-class, high-traffic sites including FoodNetwork.com, HGTV.com, DIYNetwork.com, FineLiving.com, GAC.com, Recipezaar.com, and more.

Environment is fast-paced with numerous ITERATIVE development-cycles. Prior roles working with similar products in a fast-paced production environment a plus.

REQUIRED-SKILLS:

* 2+ years experience in general web application development, with 1+ years with front-end
* strong command of semantic-markup and TABLE FREE layouts
* solid knowledge of CSS (floats, positioning, box-model, sprites, hacks, browser-compatibility)
* adequate Javascript (DOM, experience with frameworks such as jQuery, YUI, ...)
* excellent grasp of Web-Standards

Preferred-Skills:

* strong to advanced Javascript (object-oriented-javascript, Ajax, JSON, event-handlers, etc.)
* experience with high-performance optimization techniques (edge-serving, minimize http connections, etc.)
