(New York City) We're a professional services company serving some of the most recognizable names in the Fortune 1000, building specialized, dynamic custom web sites. We have a full slate of programmers, but we need a great web designer to bring it all together. Looking for an individual that:
Has a solid, modern design sense
Is attuned to current trends in design, from corporate through funky, and everything in between
Understands usability issues and how to address them
Can work comfortably alongside developers
Can work within the limits of corporate style guides when necessary
Is able to hear constructive criticism and feedback with having a meltdown
Understands the basics of how files typically get packaged when sent to a printer -fonts, layered files
Have an online portfolio
Uses CSS and HTML to create attractive sites
Creates fluid, CSS layouts without relying on tables or other last-century techniques
Command of the Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design
Aware of the most prevalent cross-browser issues and how to code for them
Can follow a wireframe document
Have a good grasp of Flash development and the ability for Flash to read information from an external source such as an XML file
