(San Francisco, CA) Splunk is looking for a UI Designer to work on our award winning search engine. The ideal candidate is equally strong in presentation layer (HTML/CSS) and core design (visual and interaction) skills. Rapid prototyping skills using libraries like jQuery are a must.

Responsibilities

* Work closely with cross-functional teams to brainstorm, prototype, and codify new product features and designs

* Build out interactive prototypes in HTML/CSS using jQuery

* Maintain and grow a library of design patterns for use in prototyping and design specification

* Socialize designs and prototypes with key stakeholders and users and integrate feedback and changes in a timely manner

* Work closely with UI developers to ensure that features are integrated true to the design intent

Requirements

* Expert proficiency in HTML/CSS, familiarity with Javascript and the jQuery library

* Demonstrable experience designing web-based apps

* Strong sense of design, from usability to aesthetics

* Experience and desire to work within a fast-paced, iterative development environment

* Ability to work independently and pro-actively with limited supervision (but must also play well with others)
