As part of our continued growth, we require a passionate and quality-focused web developer to work with us in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Your rock-solid technical work will be the foundation for beautiful web projects for clients such as BBC, O2 and Independent News & Media.

You will be working with LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP to Perl) to extend products and frameworks (such as Expression Engine, Magento, Zend) to create awesome social, brand and Ecommerce experiences for the web.

Your focus will be on doing things the right way, and you should have experience of communicating these ideas to both technical and non-technical people. You will be working in a great environment and benefiting from perks such as health cover and performance-related pay.

On a day to day basis you will be:

• Working with our team and clients to understand project requirements
• Developing these requirements into great web applications
• Testing your work to ensure it is bullet-proof
• Documenting your work so that others can pick it up

We also need you to take an active role in:

• Teaching the existing team new things via coaching and internal workshops
• Collaborating and planning technical work with project managers
• Generally contributing to a great working environment

Must Have:

• 3+ years experience of working on web projects in L.A.M.P or similar
• Be able to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
• Been involved in gathering and specifying technical requirements for projects

Should Have:

• Good understanding of user interface considerations and making things easy to use.
• Great XHTML/CSS/JS skills
• A third-level degree in a related discipline would be great to have, but we value experience as well as book-learning.

Bonus Experience:

• CMS and Ecommerce: EE, Magento
• Frameworks: Zend, Codeigniter, CakePHP
• Languages: Ruby on Rails, Perl
• Testing frameworks: WATIR, Selenium
• Blogging, writing and public speaking
