On Deck Capital is a high-growth financial services company, launched in 2006 by a successful financial services entrepreneur.  On Deck is revolutionizing small business financing by offering loans to established small businesses through the use of verified cash flow data in underwriting, direct daily collection, and daily asset-level monitoring.

We’re looking for a talented web designer with exceptional skills in turning requirements and wireframes into XHTML/CSS/graphics.  The right person for the job will be able to pull from and contribute to the very latest, bleeding edge principles in web design.

We currently need someone for 2-3 days a week to work on a variety of web application and website projects, but should the relationship work out, there is an opportunity for a full-time position.  You must be local to New York City and authorized to work in the United States, as we will need you to come in to our office for design discussion meetings.

Requirements:

• You design for the end-user, care about usability and are passionate about creating interfaces that are easy to use.
• You have some years of experience with UX design, and you have the portfolio to show it.
• You must be able to turn your vision into code and produce clean, W3C-Valid XHTML / CSS pages.
• You realize that most small businesses still use IE, and ensure cross-browser/platform consistency and compatibility.
• You use one of the major graphic software programs and can create graphics and icons that visually explain ideas.
• You are self-motivated, a good communicator, comfortable following direction and working independently, and able to balance great design with meeting short deadlines.
• You want to be part of a growing company that is making an impact on the small business engine of America by providing them with the capital they need to grow their businesses.
