PJA Advertising + Marketing, a BtoB and BtoC agency, and three time Agency of the Year by AdAge's BtoB Magazine, is seeking a Front End Developer to help with our growing list of technology and health sciences clients in our Boston office. Clients today include Yahoo!, EMC, Chase, Novell, Trend Micro, GE Healthcare, Infor, Boston Scientific, and other leading brands.

Position description: Front-end developer


+ We are seeking a front-end developer to develop and implement digital experience designs for a variety of different kinds of project from Web sites to HTML email campaigns to animated banners. The qualified candidate will be able to collaborate with designers and art directors, developers and project managers in order to deliver the best possible product with the fewest surprises along the way, and will demonstrate a commitment to design, development, and deployment excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:

+ Develop clean, portable front-end code for range of agency projects, including Web sites, landing pages, banner ads, email. and lightweight applications

+ Passionately advocate for opportunities to support innovative digital marketing experiences with digital technology
+ Work with internal teams, external back-end implementers and client teams to ensure technology requirements are established and followed

+ Collaborate with creative teams to ensure code delivers on full potential of agency's creative product

+ Apply either creative or technical focus depending on project requirements

+ Contribute to technical and functional specifications documents

+ Develop style guide components, prototypes and proofs of concept

+ Keep skills up-to-date in core technologies; research and learn emerging technologies

+ Manage your progress on project deliverables against project timelines, balancing overlapping project schedules

Required skills:


+ College degree
+ Experience with range of range of front-end digital development and delivery technologies, including hand-coding D/XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, timeline-based Flash, and ActionScript 2 and 3.

+ Image production, using Photoshop

+ Expertise developing and testing code across multiple browsers, platforms, etc.

+ Experience optimizing HTML and Flash for search engines and humans alike
+ Experience with XML/XSLT, dynamic code (PHP, NET), WordPress (including plug-ins and architecture) and entering content into content management systems (CMS) are a plus

+ Familiarity and intermediate ability to configure and maintain an Apache web server.

+ Understanding of principles of good UI design, and an ability to observe design specifications during implementation

+ Experience developing accessible Web sites (Section 508, W3C WAI Guidelines, etc.) and utilizing HTML validation tools.

+ Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize

+ Solid communication skills, both written and oral

+ Ability to multi-task and take initiative

+ Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

+ Positive attitude, dependability and solid work ethic
