Wanted: Head in the Clouds Engineer

The Engine Yard engineering team is looking for a super-strong Ruby developer to help push our vision of effortless app deployment, management and scaling to the masses. You will work on our flagship AppCloud product, making life better for 1,500 paying customers on sites that get up to a quarter of a million page views per month.

You feel funny writing emails without first writing tests. You dream of code, and wake in the morning to find that the code actually works. You’re an Agile Freak, a TDD Genius, a Practiced Pairer and can pick off technical debt from 200 yards. Finally, you love San Francisco as much as we do (sorry, no telecommuting).

* Have deployed a high-volume Ruby on Rails application.
* Have spent some time as a SysAdmin.
* Have experience with our products and/or puppet and chef.

Your mission

You’ll get to work in a new and innovative field, exploring new techniques and standards in automation, deployment, cluster management, and all of the fun aspects of The Cloud ™. Your work will be enabling Ruby developers to configure, deploy and scale a cluster in minutes. We’re making the DevOps movement a reality for an incredibly smart and focused customer base.

And you’ll be doing this while working with some of the best Ruby developers in the world, and under the best manager you’ll have ever met.
