You should be an expert in JavaScript (several years experience), have deep experience with jQuery, experience with design patterns like MVC (or a desire to learn), semantic markup, HTML/XHTML, AJAX, CSS, Cross-browser compatibility, and version control. You must think object-oriented, pride yourself in readable, documented code, and enjoy collaborating with other developers to code applications that are long-lived, easily maintained and elegant inside and out.
