JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY:
Curse, Inc. is seeking a talented Front End Developer to be a part of the largest MMO property worldwide. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be working and collaborating on projects with a small but experienced team of designers and developers creating cutting edge web tools and features for online gamers.

Candidates must provide examples of the ability to translate mocks and prototypes into clean, standards-compliant, accessible (X)HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Graphic design experience is a major plus for the position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Translate prototypes and PSD mocks into launch-ready, valid HTML/CSS/Javascript
• Collaborate with design and development teams to ensure design vision is maintained, final markup is standards compliant, and UI deliverables are completed on time
• Explore new technologies, industry trends and technical innovation
• Handle multiple project requirements

SKILLS

• Expertise in (X)HTML, CSS (understanding of HTML 5, CSS3)
• Experience with Javascript and Javascript based frameworks such as JQuery
• An understanding of SEO-friendly, CSS-based layouts that adhere to W3C standards
• Highly organized and detail oriented, with strong problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively, prioritize tasks and maintain deadlines
• Graphic design experience and familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite is a major plus
• Interest in video games – especially MMOs – is a major plus
• Experience with the Flash/AS3 (optional)
• Ability to design intuitive user interfaces (optional)
• Experience with the .NET framework (optional)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• A 4-year degree in a related field
• A portfolio showcasing working examples of standards-based code or a significant website that you have worked on.
