We’re an online retail/games startup based in Cambridge, MA looking for someone to fill a full-time position (temp one month to permanent) as a Lead Developer of web applications.

We compensate very well, paying market rates or above for real talent. You may choose to substitute some equity for salary, but that is not mandatory. A remote working option can be possible too.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who: 

- Has experience building complex web apps (think Facebook) and in PHP*
- Has experience with AJAX/HTML 
- Is somewhat familiar with the LAMP stack ("full stack") and doing web app deployment to live servers.

*Though PHP doesn't need to be your favorite language; I’m looking at you Python/RoR evangelists!

A little about us: we are a small startup that is highly profitable. We bootstrapped our way to profitability by using minimum money and time (8 months). We are expanding to take on larger challenges and need a great programmer to work with us. 

Job Description

This isn't your routine coding job. We offer challenging work that pushes the envelopes of technology. With us, you'll get to

- Work on efficient game-state data streams between the client and server, using time-sensitive live AJAX polling (like live stock ticker web app).
- Get instant customer feedback on features you develop, which are pushed live quickly. See the impact of your work contribute to the company's revenue within days of deployment.
- Handle financial transactions and credits for the retail part of the site.

We want someone smart, who can get things done and take the initiative when necessary. You will have a lot of freedom and responsibility in this job.

The task you will work on will be mostly development and programming of a web application that's the core product of our company.
