We are seeking a mid-level to senior-level web developer to build the back-end of an online marketplace website due to launch on or before February 1, 2011. The front-end of the site is already designed and built in PHP/CSS, meaning, the simple design, navigation, and page layouts are in place and ready for functional buildout.

We need you to implement the following:

SSL/S-HTTP, transaction management, profile and account management, payment gateway, accounting system, reporting system, basic cms, search, content and image database.

We are also looking for server configuration. If you have experience in this area, please include a description in your reply.

Requirements:

• W3C standards-compliant, cross-browser HTML/CSS (we will support IE6)
• JavaScript and jQuery
• PHP
• MySQL
• Experience developing for ecommerce (include examples)
• Clear and understandable English (both written and spoken)

This is a freelance project for launch with strong potential for ongoing work as lead developer. We are looking specifically for someone who has built marketplaces before and someone who is local to the Bay Area.
