Skills:

• Strong working knowledge of Python and/or Java.
• An understanding of client side JavaScript
• Experience building design driven software, emphasizing user experience
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Strong knowledge of data structures, designing software for performance, scalability and availability
• Ability to evaluate, troubleshoot, and improve existing code bases
• Strong grasp of programming best practices and are able to follow them
• Able to adapt to situations which may not always allow best practices to be followed
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers; work effectively as part of a team
• Experience working on enterprise websites and building scalable software a plus
• Experience with Python frameworks (Django, Pylons) a plus
• A working knowledge of HTTP and RESTful web applications a plus
• Knowledge of server side JavaScript a plus
• Experience working with bug tracking and source code version control systems is also desirable.
