Part-time (two days/week onsite)

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden website developer assists in the design, production, and upkeep of online publications and projects, in particular, bbg.org. Working as part of a small creative team, the website developer will design, program, and produce new and updated web-based content; integrate web APIs (Flickr, Google Maps, etc.); program and enhance web forms; and perform other related duties or special projects.

Qualifications:

• Expert knowledge of web standard technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with web programming languages (PHP), JavaScript frameworks (jQuery), and Content Management Systems
• Excellent eye for clean layout and proficiency with design software
• Knowledge of web browser technologies and cross-browser coding techniques

Preferred:

• Experience with Expression Engine
• Interest in and familiarity with web analytics, user experience, e-commerce software, video streaming, search engine optimization, and other current web-based technologies
