Silverchair is seeking a UI Designer with a passion for and strong experience in front-end design, information architecture and user experience to join our growing design team. Working closely with project managers, business analysts, developers, Silverchair executives and the client, the ideal candidate will be able to conceive of and swiftly execute interface solutions for complex data-driven web-based applications that meet user, product and branding needs. In addition, the UI Designer shall assist in seeing that these design solutions are properly executed through to production.

Requirements

• An ability to identify the requirements, tasks, and goals of target audience(s), as well as a strong ability to conceptualize how they might be addressed in interactive concepts and functional components
• An ability to produce appropriate sketches, wireframes, navigation models, highly-polished look and feel drawings, illustrations, diagrams, etc. under tight time constraints and to a standard that satisfies all stakeholders
• Fluency with evolving web standards and technologies, usability best practices and an interest in emerging interactive design trends
• A progressive design sensibility with the ability to articulate interactive design principles and their application
• An impeccable visual design aesthetic that incorporates a strong feel for typography, color and other aspects of visual design
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent client interaction and team skills
• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects
• Proficiency in the latest version of Adobe Fireworks OR a willingness to adopt and learn this software

Additional skills/background that are a plus:

• Formal Design Education
• CSS/HTML experience/knowledge
• Experience with usability testing
• Experience in designing for mobile devices
• Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver skills/knowledge
