GigMasters.com, the popular entertainment booking site, is on the hunt for a Creative Developer.  This person will work closely with the Senior Creative Developer to churn out feature-rich front-end enhancements to the company website, learn more about and utilize the latest web technologies and take part in the creative process of new marketing initiatives, all while working for a young and fast-moving company.  Sound good?  Here’s the 411.

Gig who?

GigMasters has been helping performers get gigs and party goers find the perfect entertainment since 1997, so technically we’re not a startup, but the youthful atmosphere, fast-paced work environment and customary Wii breaks kind of make us feel like one.  We’ve almost doubled our full-time staff in the past year and we’re still growing.  We’re excited about our future and we think you’ll be too.

What you’ll do

You will work directly with the Senior Creative Developer and the Tech Department to produce lightweight and semantic front-end markup.  You will ensure web content is accessible, standards-compliant, SEO friendly and cross-browser compatible.  You will harness the power of the ASP.NET framework, as it relates to the front-end and middle-tier.  You will also play an active role in the foundation of a mobile platform for our website as well as the integration of our brand with social media sites, like Facebook and Twitter.  Not every project will be glamorous, but you’ll get your fair share of cool ones.  And at the end of the day, you’ll become a better developer while helping us reach our goals.

What you bring to the table

• (X)HTML – your markup is all about the content and nothing else
• CSS – you can float, you can clear, you can position absolutely
• JavaScript – you can find your way around the DOM and know a thing or two about AJAX
• jQuery – you’re comfortable using this amazing library and it plugins
• Object Oriented Programming – you don’t consider this a foreign concept and have had some exposure to it (.NET MVC, PHP, Rails, Python)
• Web Standards – you know which elements should be on a webpage and why
• Design – you know your serifs from your sans-serifs and cannot only slice up a mock-up in Photoshop, but create one too

Nice to haves

• Working knowledge of Social Media APIs
• Familiarity with SQL/MySQL databases
• Solid understanding of SEO
• Web Optimization techniques, including the use of YSlow and Firebug
